Heart in Balance Seeks New Director for Counseling Center for Fall 2021 Forward

Heart in Balance (HIB) is creating an opportunity for the right individual or team to assume leadership of
the thriving counseling center, commencing in the Fall of 2021.

Founder Patricia E. Craven has served as Executive/Clinical Director since 2004, and will continue her private practice and training facilitation, but now with board support, seeks new leadership to assume direction for the counseling center. In addition to providing mental health counseling to public and charter schools, HIB is highly regarded for the three training programs developed under Patricia’s guidance over the years. HIB now operates three highly respected programs from a trainee in practicum for pre-licensed therapists to a supervisory program and a robust post-graduate associates training.

These programs are centered in understanding of and commitment to an Integrative Model, where social justice, raising therapist awareness and developing clinical skills to help clients cope and thrive through the plethora of challenges often rooted in issues of racism, discrimination and marginalization.

From an initial four therapists, the HIB team has grown to more than 20 staff members and has served over 1000 clients, providing therapy to children, adolescents, families, couples and adults throughout the SF Bay Area. As a non-profit 501(C)3 HIB offers low sliding scale and affordable fees, in order to reach out and provide services to all members of our community, regardless of economic circumstances.
